"The process of creating is an endless journey. On the street is where I get inspiration and materials for many of my creations. A thoroughly urban sensibility of the images adds a tangible dimension to the elusive, soulful nature of each component’s energy”

Reviews:
Eric Ernst says: "The most melodic use of recycled materials, the hands down winner is Joseph Eschenberg's "Me and Frida" which rhythmically uses both painterly and sculptural elements to conjure a dramatic contrast in both depth and materials."

Dean AnTonio of NYU Tisch School of the Arts says:"Joseph Eschenberg's work spoke to me as a teacher and consumer of art as a cultural artifact. When I taught a class called "The World Through Art", I showed several of his pieces to open a conversation about art's place in the world we share"

I started creating in upstate New York, in the region called the Thousand Islands located on the St. Lawrence River. Later moved to Montauk, New York on Long Island where I continued my creative process and now in Fort Montgomery, New York. Mixed media concepts and assemblage presents throughout most of my artistic production, a balance of chaos and control. I am driven by improvisational and direct action in the arts. I have always noticed things a bit off centered, how light affects the appearance of objects through out the day and the beauty in objects that are worn, torn, ragged, chipped and cracked. I fuse together paint, construction materials and found objects for many of my projects, also I create components from objects for future projects..
